  • David Cash was appointed Chief Executive Officer in March 2010, having served as Endurance’s Chief Underwriting Officer from December 2005 to February 2010. He was named President of Endurance's Bermuda operations in May 2008, a role he previously served in from December 2004 to December 2005. Mr. Cash joined the company at its inception in December 2001 as Endurance's Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer, a role he held through June 2005.

    Mr. Cash previously worked for various Zurich Financial Services subsidiaries from 1993 through 2001 and prior to that served as a consulting actuary at Tillinghast-Towers Perrin. Mr. Cash received an Msc. in mathematics from Oxford University, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar. Mr. Cash, a native of Bermuda, is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

  • Roger W. Crandall is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts. Prior to being named President and CEO in January 2010 and Chairman in December 2010, Mr. Crandall served as President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Crandall first joined MassMutual in 1988, and spent the first 12 years of his career in the company’s Investment Management Department. In 2000, he joined Babson Capital Management LLC, a MassMutual subsidiary. In 2002, he was named Managing Director at Babson Capital and head of the company’s Corporate Bond Management, Public Bond Trading and Institutional Fixed Income units.

    In June 2005, Mr. Crandall was appointed Chairman of Babson Capital and Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of MassMutual. In addition, he was appointed Co-Chief Operating Officer of MassMutual in June 2007. In this role he was accountable for Babson Capital and two other MassMutual subsidiaries – Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers LLC and Baring Asset Management Limited – as well as MassMutual’s Retirement Services, Retirement Income and Financial Products businesses. Mr. Crandall was named President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2008, at which point he joined the Board of Directors. He also is a Board member of the American Council of Life Insurers and the Wharton Board of Leadership Advisors. Mr. Crandall serves on the CEO Roundtable and the Massachusetts Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors. Mr. Crandall, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He earned his MBA with honors from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Shaun Crawford is Global Insurance Sector Leader at Ernst & Young. Shaun has been in the financial services industry for 26 years, having worked both in consulting or line management with the majority of leading London-based insurers and retail banks.

    Until recently, Shaun led Ernst & Young’s UK insurance sector, as well as the Insurance Advisory practice across Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. Shaun has served major financial services clients such as Legal & General, Standard Life, Zurich Financial Services and Met Life. Shaun is also a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. Before leading Ernst & Young’s UK insurance practice he fulfilled similar roles at Cap Gemini and IBM Consulting. Prior to originally joining Ernst & Young in 1996, Shaun also worked within the insurance business of NatWest Bank (now RBS) and HSBC.

  • David Long is President and Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Mutual Group. He was elected President in June 2010 and became Chief Executive Officer in June 2011.

    Mr. Long began his career at Liberty Mutual in 1985, and he has held positions of increasing responsibility in the company’s Commercial Markets, Underwriting and Financial, Mergers and Acquisitions and most recently International operations.

    Mr. Long’s affiliations include:

  • Mark Pearson is president, chief executive officer and a director of AXA Financial, Inc. He is also chairman and chief executive officer of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company.* At AXA Group, Mr. Pearson is a member of both the Executive Committee and the Management Committee.

    Mr. Pearson joined AXA Group in 1995 with the acquisition of National Mutual, now AXA Asia Pacific Holdings. He was appointed regional chief executive of AXA Asia Life in 2001. In 2008, Mr. Pearson was named president and chief executive officer of AXA Japan.

    Before joining AXA, Mr. Pearson spent approximately 20 years in the insurance sector, holding several senior management positions at National Mutual and Friends Provident.

  • Jay S. Wintrob serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of SunAmerica Financial Group, the U.S. based life and retirement services businesses of American International Group, Inc., or AIG, and Executive Vice President of Domestic Life and Retirement Services of AIG. Mr. Wintrob was Executive Vice President of Retirement Services of AIG from 2002-2009 and also served as a director of AIG from 1999-2004.

    Mr. Wintrob joined SunAmerica Inc. in 1987 as Assistant to the Chairman, was elected Senior Vice President in 1989, Executive Vice President in 1991 and Vice Chairman in 1995. Mr. Wintrob also served as President of SunAmerica Investments, Inc., overseeing the company’s invested asset portfolio, from 1994 through 2000. Following AIG’s acquisition of SunAmerica Inc, Mr. Wintrob served as Vice Chairman of AIG Retirement Services, Inc. from 1998-2005, Chief Operating Officer from 1998-2001 and has served as President since 2000 and CEO since 2001.

    Prior to joining SunAmerica, Mr. Wintrob was with the law firm of O’Melveny & Myers. Mr. Wintrob received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley.

    He has served as a non-executive director of AIA Group Limited since September 2010. He was elected in September 2011 as a director of Oaktree Capital Group, LLC. Mr. Wintrob is a member of the board of the American Council of Life Insurers and of several non-profit organizations, including The Broad Foundations, California Institute of Technology (CalTech), Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, The J. Paul Getty Trust and the Skirball Cultural Center.

  • Philip V. Bancroft is Chief Financial Officer of ACE Limited. He is responsible for all aspects of ACE’s financial organization, including transactional finance and decision-support activities such as performance management, budgeting, reporting, profit and cost management, and shareholder value. Mr. Bancroft joined ACE in 2002 bringing a wealth of insurance industry knowledge and corporate finance expertise. Prior to joining ACE, he spent nearly 20 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, most recently as partner-in-charge for their New York Regional Insurance Practice where he led a team of partners and staff in serving some of the firm’s most significant insurance clients.

    Mr. Bancroft received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1982. He currently serves on the Board of the YMCA of Greater Philadelphia, is an executive member of the Board of Group of North American Insurance Enterprises (GNAIE), and a member of the Board of the Bermuda Institute for Ocean Sciences (BIOS).

  • Chris Blunt is executive vice president of Retirement Income Security (RIS), which encompasses New York Life’s income annuities, investment annuities, and mutual funds. RIS is dedicated to providing solutions to consumers in both the accumulation and income phases of retirement. Mr. Blunt is responsible for establishing the strategic direction for these businesses.

    Mr. Blunt joined the company in 2004 as executive vice president at New York Life Investment Management and was responsible for setting and executing New York Life Investment Management’s Retail Investments strategy, with particular emphasis on growing New York Life Investment Management’s sales of mutual funds and separate account wrap through all of its distribution partners. In March 2007 he was elected senior vice president and chief operating officer for Life and Annuity, and in 2008 was appointed to his current role.

    Prior to joining New York Life Investment Management, Mr. Blunt was chairman and chief executive officer of GivingCapital, Inc., a wealth management solutions provider serving the financial institutions marketplace, and before that spent 14 years in a variety of senior marketing and distribution roles in the investment management industry. Mr. Blunt was the chief marketing officer – Americas, for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, and president of Mercury Funds Distributors. Before working with Merrill Lynch, he was a managing director with Goldman Sachs & Co., and the national sales manager for Goldman Sachs Funds.

    Mr. Blunt holds an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School and a B.A. in History from the University of Michigan and serves on the Boards of The American College, The Insured Retirement Institute, The New York City YMCA, & Comfort Zone Camp.

  • Mr. Carlson is responsible for sales of AXA Equitable’s proprietary life products across all distribution channels. He oversees the company’s life wholesaling teams, as well as national accounts and advanced markets. Mr. Carlson will also develop strategies for new and complementary life distribution opportunities for the company.

    Prior to joining AXA Equitable, Mr. Carlson held several leadership positions in sales, marketing and product management for MassMutual Financial Group. Most recently, he was corporate vice president, national sales manager for the U.S. Insurance Group, responsible for sales of all life, disability, long-term care and annuity products. He also led external wholesaling, advanced sales, career brokerage and sales operations for the company. Before joining MassMutual in 2002, Mr. Carlson held senior sales positions at CIGNA Healthcare; Bankers Systems; Digital Equipment Corporation; and Wang Laboratories.

    Mr. Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maine and an M.B.A from the University of Hartford. He also holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 24 and 26 securities registrations as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

  • Peng Chen, Ph.D., CFA is president of Morningstar’s global Investment Management division. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s investment consulting, retirement advice, and investment management operations in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, including Morningstar Associates, Ibbotson Associates, Morningstar Investment Services, Old Broad Street Research, and Seeds Finance.

    Chen joined Ibbotson Associates in 1997, and is one of the foremost authorities on asset allocation. He has played a key role in the development of Ibbotson’s investment consulting and 401(k) advice/managed retirement account services. Prior to Morningstar’s acquisition in March 2006, Chen served as managing director and chief investment officer for Ibbotson. Chen served as president of Ibbotson Associates, a registered investment advisor and wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar, from August 2006 until November 2010.

    A respected researcher, Chen has expertise in asset allocation, portfolio risk measurement, nontraditional assets, and global financial markets. His writings have appeared in the Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Portfolio Management, Journal of Investing, Journal of Financial Planning, Bank Securities Journal, the American Association of Individual Investors Journal, Consumer Interest Annual, and the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning. He received the “Articles of Excellence” award from the Certified Financial Planner Board in 1996 and Graham and Dodd Scroll award in 2003 and 2007 from the Financial Analysts Journal.

    Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology and a master’s degree and doctorate degree in consumer economics from Ohio State University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

  • Keith Dardis is the Regional Vice President of Business Sales for the Northeast Region. The Northeast Region is comprised of approximately 400 salespersons generating over $2.5B in revenue annually. Our Business Sales group is comprised of 3 different segments 1) Enterprise- handling our largest Fortune 1500 accounts 2) General Business- handling the next tier of business customers and 3) Public Sector- handling local and state sales as well as entities purchasing off these contracts. Before accepting his current role, Keith held the position of RVP for the North Region for Enterprise accounts. Keith has held various other positions within Sprint including Product Manager, Finance Analyst, Director of Strategy and Pre-Sales support and National Account Branch Manager. Prior to joining Sprint, Keith worked for 3M, Vestron Movie Productions and Bluewater Information Convergence.

    Keith holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree from Villanova University with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting.

    Keith is married. His wife's name is Wendy and they have two boys, Jake and Collin.

  • Stephen L. Deschenes is Senior Vice President & General Manager for the Annuities Division for Sun Life Financial’s U.S. Operations. He was named to this position in June 2009.

    In this role, Mr. Deschenes will oversee Sun Life’s annuity business line, working with the company’s marketing, actuarial and distribution units to build best practices and create a diversified portfolio of competitive products that meet advisor and customer retirement income needs.

    Prior to joining Sun Life, Mr. Deschenes worked for MassMutual Financial Group, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the Retirement Income Group. Before joining MassMutual, he served as Executive Vice President for Fidelity Investments. Mr. Deschenes joined Fidelity Investments in 2003 and led product development and marketing for the defined contribution business. He also co-led the company's Retirement Leadership Forum, an enterprise-wide initiative focused on building an overall retirement strategy producing several major launches including the Fidelity Retirement Institute and new retirement income products. He is also a founder of the online financial advice site mPower (now part of Morningstar).

    Mr. Deschenes graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University with a BA in Psychology and Social Relations. He holds NASD Series 7 and 24 licenses.

    Mr. Doyle had previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Chartis U.S., responsible for the company’s property and casualty businesses in the United States and Canada. Mr. Doyle joined National Union, an AIG company, in 1986 and was elected AIG Senior Vice President in 2006.

    Mr. Doyle is a graduate of the University at Buffalo. He is a member of the Board of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund and is also a Trustee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.

  • Bill heads the WCMA insurance-linked securities efforts. He joined from Swiss Re Capital Markets, where he had lead responsibility for originating and structuring ILS and related solutions. Since 1997, he has participated in more than 25 ILS transactions for reinsurers, insurers, government entities and corporate clients worldwide. Prior to Swiss Re, he worked at Merrill Lynch focusing on M&A and capital raising for insurers. He also worked with Aon Capital Markets in the initial years of the ILS market. Bill earned a B.A. from Harvard College, a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

  • Richard S. Dziadzio is a senior executive vice president for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company and chief financial officer for AXA Financial, Inc. and AXA Equitable, a position he has held since 2007. He is also a member of the company’s Executive Operating Committee.

    Mr. Dziadzio has responsibility for all actuarial, investment and risk management functions, as well as the controller, tax, expense management, corporate real estate, corporate sourcing and procurement, and distribution finance areas.

    Mr. Dziadzio has been with AXA Group since 1994. In 1998, he became head of finance and administration for AXA Real Estate Investment Managers. From 2001 to June 2004, he was responsible for business support and development for AXA Financial, AllianceBernstein and AXA Investment Managers.

    Mr. Dziadzio joined AXA Financial in 2004, and was elected executive vice president of AXA Equitable later that year, and executive vice president and deputy chief financial officer of AXA Financial and AXA Equitable in 2005. In addition, he is a director of AllianceBernstein.

    Mr. Dziadzio received a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

  • Doug French is the Managing Principal of Ernst & Young’s Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice and is based in the firm’s New York office. In addition, he is responsible for all advisory services for the insurance sector within the firm’s Financial Services Office. Prior to joining Ernst & Young he was a Principal and Global Practice Director of a major actuarial consulting firm.

    Mr. French has spent over 24 years in actuarial consulting and has extensive experience in various areas including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, sales compliance and market conduct, product development, financial reporting and measurement, asset/liability management, financial projections and modeling, and distribution economics and effectiveness.

    Prior to entering actuarial advisory services, Mr. French was involved in various areas of life insurance company actuarial operations, with an emphasis on product development. Mr. French holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Earlier in his career, Sid worked at Mercer Risk, Finance & Insurance Consulting and MMC Enterprise Risk, focusing on insurance company valuation and mergers and acquisitions. Sid holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree (majoring in actuarial science) and graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He completed actuarial examinations from the Society of Actuaries.

    Smith joined State Farm in 1988 as a staff auditor at corporate headquarters. From 1990 to 2001, Paul held a variety of positions in the financial functions at State Farm, in both corporate and field locations. He was named executive assistant to the Chairman’s Council in 2002 and was promoted to Vice President – Financial Operations in 2004.

    In 2005, Paul was named Operations Vice President in the Mid-America Zone, and in 2007 Senior Vice President – Mid-America Zone. He joined the Chairman’s Council in 2009, assuming his current position in 2010.
