Alon and the AIG Strategy and M&A team are responsible for the planning and execution of AIG’s major transactions and strategic initiatives. These include portfolio sculpting transactions as well as working with AIG’s business to develop and implement strategies that create and build on existing competitive advantages to drive ongoing profitability. Alon has also served in a number of senior positions at AIG, including North American Commercial Chief Investment Officer and Senior Managing Director in Global Capital Markets. In these roles, Alon was pivotal in optimizing one of AIG’s largest investment portfolios, leading AIG’s efforts to sell-down the United States Treasury’s equity holdings, monetizing AIA, and de-risking the Direct Investment Book. Prior to joining AIG, Alon was a member of the Special Investments Management Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he represented the Fed on a broad range of transactions and initiatives relating to their investment in AIG. Alon began his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, where he structured and executed strategic transactions across numerous industries. Alon graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in economics and earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
